What is the Intention of the YTT?
Our mission is to create a space where new instructors feel confident to being their instructional journey, and those more curious about yoga will deepen their practice.
Who Are the Instructors?
The Lead Instructors are:
Melissa Lowe – Yoga House President and ERYT. Melissa has her 200-Hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate, has logged nearly 1200 hours of teaching yoga, is also Yoga Trapeze certified and is currently working towards her 500-Hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate as well as her Personal Training Certificate. Melissa teaches a Hatha Flow, but is versed in Vinyasa and Iyegar as she resonates with moving with breath as well as alignment.
Chanel Brooks earned her ERYT this year and has nearly 2000 hours of teaching yoga. She has her 200-Hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate and recently earned her certificate in Pre-Natal Training. Chanel’s trained in Vinyasa but her passion expands into Yin/Restorative and Krias.
Although Melissa & Chanel will lead the training, other Yoga House Instructors will also be a part of the curriculum.
What is the Program Curriculum?
Yoga House’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training syllabus is recognized by Yoga Alliance who has minimum standards to their training. Yoga House has added additional requirements to create a more in-depth training to help new instructors feel more prepared to begin their teaching journey. We will cover the following:

Do You Have to Attend Every Day?
Yes. Yoga House is an approved training school of the Yoga Alliance and theirs and Yoga House’s requirements to meet the minimum training hours, one MUST attend every session in its entirety.
What is the Schedule Like?
There are 2-immersions. The first immersion is 10 full days, and the second is a 9-day immersion. There is approximately 10 hours of hOMework in between the immersions that will require a Facebook account and ability to access Google Drive.
Each day will be approximately 10-12 hour days and the main location will be the main Yoga House studio with a few satellite locations (TBD).
Is There a Payment Plan?
Yes! We recognize that paying full up front isn’t as accessible to some so we have set up 2 payment plans, one for six months and the other for five months. The six month plan must begin no later than February 2nd, 2020 as a payments must be completed by the start date of the second immersion.
What experience or pre-requisites are necessary to sign up?
There are no pre-requisites, and no experience necessary to register for the Yoga Teacher Training course. The entire training will cover everything you need to know to meet the requirements as long as you to attend the immersions in full, and participate to complete the necessary work during the training to graduate.
What does the course include?
The Yoga Teacher Training will include 200+ hours of training that meets and exceeds the Yoga Alliance requirements. You will receive a course syllabus on the first day of the course that will help guide you through the training. In addition, you will be added to a Private Facebook Group for your at-hOMe studies and participation, as well as link to access the Course’s Google Drive to submit other hOMework. Lastly, the studio will provide water and light snacks each day.
What is not included:
After a participant registers for the course, there will be a list of suggested books sent. These books are at the participant’s expense. You are more than welcome to share, but it is highly encouraged to have your own. There will be breaks during the course that will allow for adequate time for lunch and dinner which are at the participant’s expense. Lodging and travel are also the participant’s responsibility. If traveling in, please book far enough in advance to ensure your accommodations.
Do other Yoga Alliance trainings count towards the this 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?
Unfortunately, no. Yoga Alliance requires schools to conduct trainings with specific content within certain categories. Yoga House has submitted a syllabus approved and recognized by Yoga Alliance and therefore we are required to provide that training for students. HOWEVER – any other recognized Yoga Alliance trainings may be counted towards Continuing Education credits with Yoga Alliance mandates.
