“The Art of Connection and Creation”
Join us for an exploration of connection, vulnerability and intimacy for both singles and couples, through the lenses of Tantra Yoga and Sacred Sexuality.
How do we create deeper authentic connections ourselves, friends, family, intimate lovers and the world around us? Connection is one of the most important things in our life, many of us have fear and/or do not know how to deeply connect to another ourselves or person.
Connection and sex are the seeds of creation, it is the source from which we all came 😉 It is the life force that moves through each of us, all of creation, creative process, music, art, dance. Pleasure, joy and healthy connection are our birthrights. We are rarely taught anything true and useful about it, yet we are expected to know how to do it, and it is deeply entangled with our sense of self-worth. We have become disempowered through the misinformation about our own bodies and socially conditioned to believe we are broken, wrong, need all kinds of medications to prevent pregnancy, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and pain during sex. Little do most of us know, our bodies and hearts contain the wisdom and power to take the reins on these issues ourselves. We’ve just fallen out of touch with the incredible power that each of us possess as creators and sexual beings.
Our sexual energy is the powerful force that fuels the creator within. When we learn to harness this energy consciously, magic is possible: sexual healing, orgasmic bliss, multidimensional connection with a lover, inspiration, vitality, creativity, unity, and liberation. The possibilities are infinite, and they lie within each of us.
This is a safe, non-judgmental space, welcome to all genders and sexual orientations, to explore deeper connection to self and each other, the dance of polarities, the sacredness and power of our sexuality, conscious intimacy, and the journey of coming home to our true essence.
You do not need a partner to attend, you can come to observe and lean or partner with someone there that you feel comfortable partnering with. This workshop will include lecture, discussion, practices, meditation, breath work, connection, laughter, and more. No nudity or sexual contact will take place.
Please bring yoga mats, blankets, pillows, flowers, crystals, anything additional you need to be comfortable, such as back jacks, bolsters/cushions, portable chairs, water bottle, snacks, and comfy clothes.
Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to get comfortable and start on time. Workshop time 2hrs.
Feel free to ask any questions and I look forward to connecting with you all!
“Jedi Mind Yoga’
What side of The Force will you choose?
Join YogaSlackers teacher Brian Coones as he guides us through a fun practice to connect with The Force.
Jedi yoga is a unique yoga practice that teaches you to connect with your mental strength and power. It is a construct for us to explore expansion and possibility through work, tenacity, will, fear, trust and unity. It is a series of practices designed to gain a greater understanding of the incredible link between the mind and the body. Our mission is to create humility, compassion, conscience and power – in ourselves and in others. What you decide to do with this new strength found is up to you. Use it, expand it, take it to your profession, athletic endeavors, or relationships. We only hope you use it for growth and good. It is really more of “formation of life” …
This training is based on the methodology and evolution of the “Jedi training” classes, intensive and retreats that have been developed in the last 10 years by the YogaSlackers. The Jedi program is designed to push yogis into discovering new limits, recognizing those limits, and then going through them. But this particular program is special – because it is designed not only to push your edges, but to show you how to keep pushing when you’re alone.
“Slackasana” Intro to Slackline Yoga
Did you know that you can do yoga on a slackline? Yes, you can! It’s not as hard as it looks 😉
Join YogaSlackers Teacher Brian Coones and learn how to bring balance to the body and mind while doing yoga on a slackline. Take your balance and practice to the next level! Slackline yoga or “Slackasana” is the art of connecting your body and breath to stabilize movement while balancing on a 1-inch yoga “mat.” suspended between two trees. Slackasana builds confidence, greater body awareness, stability, and more core strength. In this intro to Slackasana workshop we will explore and line work for the slackline fundamentals: standing, sitting, and kneeling on the line. No prior slackline experience is required. Caution: Highly addicting and fun!
I’m a Physical Therapist and Yoga Instructor. I graduated Ithaca College with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. In 2008 I moved from Upstate New York to Colorado. I received my Yoga Teacher certificate in 2008 from CorePower Yoga in Boulder, CO. While in Colorado I had the opportunity to work and teach in Estes Park, Lyons, Boulder, Telluride, Colorado Springs and Longmont, CO. In 2013 I opened, along with a friend, a small private practice where I offered Physical Therapy, Yoga and Thai Massage. In 2014, I took a job on the Navajo Nation as a Physical Therapist and have continued to teach weekly free yoga classes to the local community as well as led and assisted a variety of workshops in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. As a Yoga Instructor, I enjoy focusing on foundational strength and alignment while cultivating a healthy mindset with regard to ability, fear, patience and beginner’s mind. I teach vinyasa flow as well as inversions and beginner’s Acro Yoga. I believe that Yoga is not a tool, but a toolbox and that everyone can benefit in some way from yoga practice. I believe strongly in having fun, being brave and vulnerable and practicing yoga on and off the mat.
Classes I’ll be offering at Montrose Yoga Festivals are Beginner’s Acro Yoga and Inversions & Arm Balances
Beginner’s Acro Yoga: Acro Yoga is a partner or community based practice. While you may bring a partner, it is not required. Comfort or willingness to work in a group will be required. Come learn to trust and support one another and play! No experience required.
Inversions & Arm Balances: Learning to balance on your hands is an incredibly rewarding and challenging practice. Whether you are still working on crow or can hold a free standing hand-stand, I have lots of tips to help everyone grow their practice. This workshop will involve partner and group work. Some experience is helpful, but not required.
