The Year, 2019

Each time I began to write this article, I kept coming back to the foremost thing that has kept Yoga House growing and glowing – OUR COMMUNITY – and I wanted to start this blog expressing my immense gratitude! 2019 was a wonderful year for the studio! Join me as we look back at 2019, and look towards 2020!

2019

2019 was a pivotal year for Yoga House as we had such a transformational year. At the beginning of this year we switched software programs from Zen Planner to MINDBODY to help us better manage the studio which has been a more intuitive and user friendly program. Throughout the year we’ve seen a few instructors come and go, and we’ve experimented with our schedule and styles of classes such as Hot Yoga, Yoga Trapeze, Power Yoga, Silver Sneakers, CMU College Yoga Classes, Phoenix Recovery classes and more. We explored a wide range of classes and times to try to best meet the needs of our community.
The studio also saw a few physical transformations with two mini-remodels. We added electricity to the front of the building, had a custom prop and retail shelf added, along with new locally made retail as well as more, upgraded props to accommodate our growing classes. We added a fresh coat of paint, and refined our water/tea/juice bar in the front of the studio.
Before we knew it, we celebrated our 1-year anniversary on June 25th, and shortly after Yoga House was officially recognized by Yoga Alliance to be an accredited yoga school. Then, we entered a new phase of growth adding to the team a Studio Manager to help handle our growth in a sustainable, and organic way. Then, we embarked on the incredible journey of hosting our first festival, the Montrose Yoga Festival this past October!

2019 was nothing short of amazing. In the past year it was the dedication of the community that continued to motivate us! Having our community show up to our classes, workshops, festivals, grow our online community, and build friendships outside of the studio – was an incredible benefit to our year. Every class, every moment, every OM, I keep coming back to how grateful I am to YOU, our students, and our passionate instructors. Thank YOU for showing up. Thank you for believing in what we are doing. Thank you for trusting us. And most of all, becoming our friends and building a wonderful western Colorado yogi tribe!

Looking Toward 2020

As we embark on a new year, Yoga House will continue to move forward, being guided by its Core Values. In 2020, it is our intent to bring a consistent schedule, continue to bring in well-known yogis to offer trainings to deepen one’s practices, continue to bring in popular workshops like the Gong Baths and Mala Workshops, and offer our first Yoga Teacher Training this coming summer. As the seasons change we will also begin to offer new yoga experiences outside of the studio – Yoga with Piglets, Hike & Yoga, Yoga in the Park and more!
As we look forward to embrace 2020, we also have our sights set on hosting our 2nd Annual Montrose Yoga Festival May 14th – 16th, 2021. And you’d be amazed on how many presenter and vendor applications we’ve already received! Be sure to Save the Date as we intend on another magical event!

Powerful Intentions

As we embrace the end of the year and decade, we have planned a few special classes to close out and begin the year in a fun and powerful way. Join us for a sparkly New Year’s Eve Candlelight Flow on Tuesday, December 31st at 6:30p with instructor, Erin Porteous. Wear sparkly yoga wear, and enjoy sparkling juices after class to toast to the New Year. Then join us for New Years Flow on January 1st at 10a with me, Melissa Lowe to set your intentions for 2020.
“May you leave the past behind and live in the NOW, enjoying the blank slate of the New Year ahead.”
From all of us at Yoga House, thank you – Happy Holidays – Namaste!
